[CONCEPT] Virtual WorldsEverything you need to know about virtual worlds.

[Virtual worlds] (#virtualWorld

) ## {: #virtualWorld_technical}

Technical characteristics #####
Construction A virtual world will be built in different ways depending on whether it is Lyoko or a Replika.

Lyoko

The name 'Lyoko' refers to the sphere containing the [5 virtual world sectors] (73 #sector_lyoko) in the Digital Sea. Since this sphere is being built at the same time as the [5th Territory] (73 #sector_core), building Lyoko is the same as building its main territory only. Consult the tutorial 'Building Territories' to learn more about building territories.

Replika

The virtual worlds of X.A.N.A. are built automatically when your game starts.

{: #virtualWorld_destruction} Destruction

Each virtual world in the Digital Sea is systematically generated by a Supercomputer. If it has just been destroyed, the generated world is then destroyed. This method will also be the only possibility to destroy a Replika. However, Lyoko, which is a complex virtual world, can have several states of destruction.

Each virtual world of the Digital Sea is systematically generated by a Supercomputer. If it has just been destroyed, the generated world is then destroyed. This method will also be the only possibility to destroy a Replika. However, Lyoko, which is a complex virtual world, can have several states of destruction.

{: #virtualWorld_distribution} Distribution

The Digital Sea is composed of 6 virtual worlds distributed as follows:

  • 1 original world placed at the center of the Digital Sea Map: the world of Lyoko, which has [4 surface sectors] (73 #sector_category), themselves composed of [10 towers] (72 #tower_lyoko), and a [main territory] (73 #sector_category) containing a tower and a [virtual heart] (73 #sector_lyokoCore).
  • 5 Replikas created by X.A.N.A, randomly placed in the Digital Sea, which each have a [main sector] (73 #sector_category), composed of [2 towers] (72 #tower_replika).
{: #virtualWorld_classification} Classification Virtual worlds

are classified according to several methods by different programs:

######
Superscan The Superscan classifies virtual worlds numerically from 0 to 5 to generate the tower number. Lyoko is then still recognized as virtual world 0.

######
Smap The 'Digital Sea Map' classifies virtual worlds according to two types of data
: - Their coordinates* (x; y) * in the Digital Sea. Serving as a reference point for the positioning of all the other existing virtual worlds, Lyoko will always be found at the center of the map or at the coordinates (0; 0).

  • A randomly generated 6-digit unique identifier.
{: #virtualWorld_type} Virtual World Type

There are 2 types of virtual worlds in the Digital Sea.

{: [Lyoko] #virtualWorld_lyoko} A complex virtual world, Lyoko

Lyoko is the only complex virtual world existing in the Digital Sea. Indeed, its [virtual heart] (73 #sector_lyokoCore) allows it to manage, in addition to its [main sector] (73 #sector_lyoko), [4 other surface sectors] (73 #sector_lyoko) that are not vital to its functioning. These surface sectors are linked together via passage towers, making Lyoko the only virtual world to have these special towers. Being generated directly by the Supercomputer also managing the interface, Lyoko is considered to be the default virtual world for all interface programs.

{: [Replika] #virtualWorld_replika} Simple virtual world, Replika

Created by X.A.N.A, the Replikas do not have a Virtual Heart and are all, therefore, simple virtual worlds, that is, worlds with only one [main sector] (73 #sector_category), composed of towers specific to these virtual worlds. Unlike Lyoko, you cannot directly target the towers or sectors of Replikas via the interface programs. The Skidbladnir must be present on the virtual world in order to maintain the connection with the interface.

{: #virtualWorld_program} Programs related to the virtual world

###### {: #virtualWorld_entry} Entry gates
Each virtual world has an entrance gate located at the south pole of its crust in the Digital Sea. This SAS connects the virtual world to the global computer network by filtering data from the Digital Sea, thus giving the possibility to the towers of the virtual world to interact with the real world. If the Skidbladnir lines up with a virtual world whose entrance door you have not unlocked, the submarine will automatically connect to it via its [digital key] (76 #skidbladnir_digitalKey). The ['Digital Sea Sensor'] window (68) will then open allowing you to unlock the hatch using the Cryptosmasher.

{: #virtualWorld_accessCode} Main Territory Access Code

Being a sensitive point, the [main territory] (73 #sector_category) of each virtual world is protected by a password found in the book of the Punic Wars.
